§ 12-5. Civil traffic penalty for driver education safety.

Pursuant to F.S. § 318.1215, the board hereby requires that the county clerk of the circuit court collect an additional $5.00 with each civil traffic penalty in the county. The funds collected under this section shall be used to fund traffic education programs in public and nonpublic schools. The funds shall be used for direct educational expenses and shall not be used for administration. The board shall administer the funds collected under this section. Beginning immediately upon the effective date of the ordinance from which this section is derived and continuing until determined otherwise by subsequent written resolution of the board, the funds collected pursuant to this section shall be remitted by the clerk of the circuit court to the school board of the county to fund its traffic education programs. The funds shall be used in accordance with F.S. § 318.1215.
